The Copper Bar Ranch and its fold of highland cattle, lush gardens, horses, and chickens is one of the only working cattle ranches in the upper valley. Nestled in a quiet nook of Colorado’s high country, The Copper Bar Ranch offers some of the highest-quality ethically-produced beef in the state from its grass-fed Scottish Highland cattle.

The Copper Bar Ranch is run by Shad & Kerry, two cowpokes born-and-raised in Colorado and married since 2019. The Copper Bar Ranch runs through active wildlife corridors, making our ranch home to elk, deer, mountain lions, bears, coyotes, and more. As ranchers, Kerry and Shad have prioritized providing the most ethically-produced beef in our valley to its customers in a way that honors and coexists with the land.

Kerry and Shad are committed to a “field harvest” of their beef, which means animals are raised and killed without ever leaving their pasture or spending time on a feedlot. This is a more humane way to raise cattle, is an environmentally friendly ranching practice, and prevents any stress from tainting the quality and taste of your beef. The Copper Bar Ranch also provides produce to local restaurants in the valley, and we’re excited to host you for your bespoke special event as Vail Valley’s most exclusive ranch wedding venue.

Kerry and Shad were married in 2019. Both work in public service with a focus on protection of public lands, small agriculture in Colorado, and keeping Colorado a great place to live.
